- New Game Mode: The Swingcopter: This innovative game mode adds another layer of complexity and control. - Official Level: “Dash”: As is tradition with major updates, 2.2 brought a new official level, aptly named “Dash.” This level serves as an introduction to many of the new 2.2 features, including the Swingcopter, dynamic camera movements, and various new editor objects. It quickly became a benchmark for showcasing the update’s potential.
- Platformer Mode: This is perhaps the most revolutionary addition. Geometry Dash, traditionally a side-scrolling auto-runner, now features a full-fledged platformer mode. Players have direct control over left and right movement, opening up entirely new genres of user-created levels, including traditional platformers, puzzle levels, and even adventure maps. This has broadened the game’s appeal beyond its core audience.
